Surveillance Image Released in Lake Oswego Home Shooting
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KATU) — Police have released a surveillance image of a person suspected of shooting at the Lake Oswego home of an insurance company CEO.
The shooting occurred around 4 a.m. on Friday, February 21, at the home of SAIF CEO Chip Terhune. SAIF is the not-for-profit company that provides workers’ compensation insurance in Oregon.
Terhune stated in an email to staff, obtained by KATU, that he initially believed someone had thrown rocks at his house. He soon realized the sounds were gunshots.
Investigators describe the suspect as wearing dark clothing, possibly including a hoodie or ski mask, and carrying a light-colored object. They believe the shooter had a vehicle parked nearby.
The shots shattered glass on the front door of the home. The broken windows have since been boarded up.
Terhune confirmed he is cooperating with the police. While the motive remains unclear, he reported that he is doing well and is ready to return to work.
Terhune has encouraged company employees to share any concerns they may have.
Lake Oswego Police confirmed the incident, noting that the shots caused minor damage, but no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about suspicious activity near Melrose Place and Melrose Street to contact the Lake Oswego Police Detectives tip line at 503-635-0232 and reference case #25-1071.
