Reliance group’s Jio Financial Services has reached a preliminary agreement with Allianz SE to form an insurance business in India, according to a Bloomberg News report.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. acted as legal counsel to Bajaj Finserv in its proposed acquisition of Allianz SE’s stake in their insurance joint ventures, a deal valued at approximately $2.8 billion.

A consortium of insurers and asset managers, led by Allianz SE, has agreed to acquire Viridium, a leading European life insurance consolidator. The deal is valued at approximately EUR 3.5 billion.

Bajaj Finserv will purchase Allianz SE’s 26% stake in their joint ventures, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, concluding a two-decade partnership.
