USAA Supports Military Families with Vehicle Donations
USAA has announced the donation of four vehicles this year through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, reinforcing its support for veterans and their communities. The program involves restoring and refurbishing vehicles to provide transportation to those in need, highlighting the importance of vehicles in the lives of veterans and their families.
This year, USAA has committed four vehicles to such families. “We are honored to continue our support for veterans and their families through the NABC Recycled Rides program,” said Randy Termeer, USAA property and casualty president, in a news release. “These vehicles represent more than just transportation; they symbolize our gratitude for the sacrifices made by our service members.” USAA, a leading provider of insurance and retirement solutions to U.S. military personnel, expressed its continued commitment to serving veterans.
The recipients of these vehicles are selected through nominations by non-profit organizations, recognizing their need for reliable transportation. The partnership between NABC and collaborators in the collision repair industry facilitates vehicle repairs and gifting. The first of these four vehicles was presented on April 21 in San Diego, CA.
The restoration of the first vehicle was completed by employees at Fix Auto Poway, who volunteered their time. The vehicle’s recipient was nominated by Support the Enlisted Project (STEP), an organization dedicated to supporting military families. USAA described the event as another step in its efforts to give back to the military community, further demonstrating its ongoing commitment through practical and impactful initiatives.
