Willis Appoints Grant Williamson to Lead Corporate Risk and Broking Operations in Canada
Willis, a WTW business, has appointed Grant Williamson to lead its corporate risk and broking (CRB) operations in Canada. Williamson brings two decades of experience in enterprise risk management, property and casualty insurance, and employment practices liability to his new role.
In this position, Williamson will collaborate with leadership teams in Canada and North America, as well as global specialty lines, to support the company’s growth strategy in the Canadian market. WTW’s CRB business in Canada operates within the firm’s broader North American framework, which was restructured in 2022 around 12 industry verticals, including aerospace, construction, financial institutions, and healthcare.
Williamson joined WTW in October 2024 as deputy regional leader, chief commercial officer, and head of strategy and execution for Willis in Canada. His previous roles include national corporate segment and central zone leader at Marsh, as well as managing director of the Toronto branch at JLT Canada. Based in Toronto, Williamson reports to Ionel Rizea, chief commercial officer for CRB North America.
“Grant brings a clear strategic lens, and his expertise in the Canadian market makes him exceptionally well-suited for this role,” said Pat Donnelly, head of Risk & Broking North America. “His collaborative approach, combined with a client-first mindset, will be key as we expand our Canadian presence.”
Rizea added, “We are thrilled to have Grant step into this critical role. His deep understanding of the industry and his innovative approach to risk management will drive significant client value and growth for our Canadian business.”
